Lando Norris topped the second free practice session at the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix, making a strong comeback after his Canada crash with teammate Oscar Piastri. Alex Dunne filled in for Norris in FP1 and secured the fourth-fastest time for McLaren. Norris clocked a 1m04.580s, leading Piastri by 0.157s, while Max Verstappen clinched third place. Lance Stroll was close behind in fourth, with Charles Leclerc in fifth after a gravel excursion. George Russell, the Canada winner, was sixth in FP2, ahead of Yuki Tsunoda and a struggling Lewis Hamilton, who faced gearbox issues and a steward’s summons. Liam Lawson expressed steering concerns, while Verstappen and Piastri focused on long runs towards the end of the session. The detailed results of FP2 are pending release.
